News Update: Confirmed News on the attacked Catholic Priest in Lagos.

We reported earlier about an attack on Rev. Father A. Nwankwo, of St. Thomas Aquinas Onilekere, Lagos state.

Information went viral about the  alleged killing of Rev. Dr Daniel Nwankwo of St. Thomas Aquinas Onilekere, Lagos state. According to our correspondent, Mazi Ifeanyi Nwosu, who spoke with one of the Parishioners, the CMO chaplain of Agege Archdiocese, Rev. Fr Nwankwo, was attacked this morning but is currently receiving treatment at Ikeja General Hospital as against the rumors that went viral in the early hours of the day.
In a document sent by the Archdiocesan Laity Council, “Good afternoon my fellow councilors, I have just been informed that Rev. Dr Daniel Nwankwo, Parish priest of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Onilekere, Agege and the CMO Archdiocesan Chaplain was shot this morning and he is currently receiving treatment at Ikeja General Hospital; lets pray for him...”

The gunmen attacked him in the early hours of the day in the church premises after a morning mass he conducted in the church.
This incident just happened barely one week after Rev. Fr Onunkwo was kidnapped and killed in Imo state.

Priests are now advised to be more careful as hoodlums now penetrate the church premises in guise of church members.

The government is advised to tighten the security operations within the country as the crime rate now increases on daily basis.

Although despite the evil activities of perpetrators within and outside the church premises, the Church of God shall stand firm
