Tears as Bishop Okeke celebrates mass for 13 people killed
The Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, under the Bishop, Most Rev. Hillary Paul Odili Okeke, the relatives, and the entire Ozubulu community today September 4, 2017, celebrated mass for the dead victims of the awful August 6 killings at St. Phillips Catholic Church, Amakwa Ozubulu, Anambra state.
Rumors went viral on Friday that the burial has been done, but our correspondent Mazi Ifeanyi Nwosu, who was live at the mass today urged people to debunk such news as it was fake.
The mass was celebrated by the Catholic bishop of Nnewi Diocese; Most Rev. Hillary Odili Okeke, amidst other Rev. Fathers at St Phillips, where they met their untimely death.
As at the time of this report, the Federal and Anambra state governments are still trying their best to fish out the perpetrators of this evil act, as they promised to stop at nothing in finding out the culprits, and bringing them to justice.
The Bishop, Most Rev. Hillary Paul Odili Okeke, during an interview consoled the bereaved, and encouraged Christians not to loose hope on God. He admonished that the works of evil men should not and will never stop the worship of God. He further said that the battle is for the Lord alone.According to the information we got, some of these victims will be buried in the church compound, while some will be taken by their family members to be buried at their homes any moment from now.
